A watermark is a text that is attached to each publication sold. It includes the name of the final customer, the date of purchase, the transaction number and user ID as well as the merchant who made the sale.

In a PDF, the watermark is found on:

  • The first page
  • The last page
  • And 14 random pages inside the publication.

In an ePub, the watermark is found on:

  • The cover image only.

In order for the watermark to be easily applied on the cover of the ePub publication, in the file content.opf under <metadata>, a tag <meta name="cover" content="{nom_fichier.jpg}"> must specify the filename of the cover. This file must be located in the Images subdirectory.

In addition to the watermark, you can insert a watermarked page on your publications sold (section Profile/Metadata/Publication Options/Security).

The watermarked page is inserted at the end of each publication and contains:

  • The title of the book
  • The author
  • The ISBN
  • The name of the customer
  • The date of purchase
  • The name of the bookseller
  • The customer number
  • The transaction number
  • And the following text:
